I met Brittany and Josh Gordon three summers ago, they contacted me to schedule a beach maternity session while they vacationed to Isle of Palms. They said they have been coming every year around 4th of July for years and once Brittany was pregnant they were very excited to mark the vacation with a portrait session. We scheduled for sunrise just outside of the Sea Cabins where they were staying and have been meeting every year in the same place ever since.
This year their family experienced extremely loss as Josh's mother passed away suddenly just a week before their visit. She was taken much too early.
They brought a picture of her, and Cade as a newborn to honor her during the session.
The morning of our session it POURED my whole drive to Isle of Palms, I was so nervous. Normally that is something I would call off but I had a lot of hope looking at the radar that we would get a clearing at some point and make this happen. With their session being just two days before the 4th of July and my own getaway plans I knew we had to make this happen no matter what.
This is why I say to always believe and have hope for a miracle. The Gordon family definitely had their angel that morning. We waited out the rain for about 5-10 minutes, and just like a story book, the clouds parted and we had the most magnificent sky I've ever seen. It was half yellow and half blue with dramatic clouds and all. Truly breath-taking!
