It's funny, they were actually staying out on Folly Beach while here visiting the Charleston area but at the last minute we opted to change their location, and here's why- Amie and Josh were celebrating a milestone anniversary, they had honeymooned in Charleston just after their wedding. In the years past when they've come back to visit they've done pictures on the beach and this time around Amie was looking for a change of backdrops. Charleston is so full of colorful and enchanting nooks, so sometimes it's just hard to pick! Based on Amie's desire for the spanish moss and palms I chose Hampton Park as our starting location since we were working with a timeframe of sunset. Hampton Park is also in downtown Charleston but does require a short drive from the historic portion in which we normally do sessions. Here we are graced with beautiful golden lit moss, gardens of palms, and quaint street lamps to light the paths. It's the perfect spot in Charleston for this look without the hassle of complicated parking or entry fees. 

Aime and Josh also wanted to take advantage of downtown on this trip, so next up on our session tour was Historic Charleston and the iconic and colorful Rainbow Row. I always try to do the full loop of East Bay, Tradd, Bendons Alley and Elliot Street for my Rainbow Row clients depending on how the kids are doing and the package selected. As it turns out, these kids were rockstars and loved the camera so we even got to utilize some of the cobblestone on Adgars Wharf! Having some pretty empty streets and less cars definitely contributed to how empty the streets appear. We got really lucky!

I can't say enough things about this wonderful family, their girls were so sweet and spunky, and I loved being able to capture their family's memories in one of their favorite places. I'm so glad we switched them from the original location of the beach to utilizing downtown! Charleston has so much to offer that I feel like you should never limit yourself to just one spot!
