Is there anyone out there that thinks planning the perfect proposal isn't stressful at all?

....No?  Everyone agrees it's super stressful, right? That is what I thought, too.

When I got the email from Daniel I was so excited to read their story and his proposal idea and it just so happened that the exact date he wanted was available in my schedule. Daniel and Emily were FLYING IN to Charleston for the short weekend for this occasion so I knew it was a big deal and had to be perfect.

He knew he wanted to propose as his father did, near the battery of Charleston and that their lunch reservations were at 82 Queen. From this we were able to devise a plan and timing that worked with the day's plans.

Now I need to preface that Daniel did not propose in the spot that was picked out... he got nervous and went early. (LOL) However, this is a perfect time to point out that when you hire a professional photographer able to adapt to those moments it doesn't go missed.

What people don't know is that when you hire a photographer to capture the proposal, you're actually hiring a planning partner, and luckily for them, that usually means the do's and the don'ts and the best insight you could ever get. My job is to help take your idea and translate it into the perfect moment and the best imagery. Does it always go according to plan? Nope. But once the proposal part is taken care of with a YES, we can have fun with the rest of our day!

Once we finished up at White Point Garden, I took Emily and Daniel on a route up Church Street which is actually one of my favorites here in Charleston. The textures and colors are so varied and it's got some of the best shaded spots.

The thing I loved most about hanging out with these two is that they were just so into each other. It was almost like I wasn't even there, they didn't need me to really direct them, they just wanted to be around each other making themselves laugh and be silly. I love that kind of chemistry!

It was a beautiful day and an honor to be a part of. Congratulations to Emily, Daniel and their families for this exciting time.
