I've had so many clients choosing two locations for their sessions, and I'm not mad at it! Charleston has such a beautiful variety of locations from our Historic Downtown and beautiful beaches that it really makes it hard to choose. So if that's the place your stuck at, please, do two locations because you won't regret it!

Charleston Route: Rainbow Row and Longitude Lane

Rainbow Row is so iconic for it's colorful architecture and amazing window boxes. Depending on where we have cars parked you can even sometimes capture a Horse and Carriage going by, or in this case, two of them! This is all a little ironic because typically I like to start my sessions well before all the walking and carriage tours begin for the sake of less people around. But occasionally this does work in my favor for a beautiful addition to your portraits.

I'm also going to tell you that if you can't decide on dresses, just choose the Epilogue package and do lots of them! When it's just you and your spouse celebrating the first pregnancy it's SO much easier to get lots of outfit changes in and really maximize that variety. Once you have little ones our maternity sessions generally start to shorten because we're working around the attention span of those little ones. So if you know that you have a lot on your Pinterest board, let's just get them all in!

Brittany had so much to choose from with my Closet but also bought that red dress herself. Funny though, the dress she ordered was yellow and we intended on using it for the beach, but Amazon sent her red! In the end it totally worked in her favor since we used it downtown in this perfect little alleyway. But at the same time, this is my WHY to having a Client Closet. You just never know how something is going to fit or look when buying from unknown resellers online. Sometimes the sizes are whack, sometimes they send you the wrong color, etc. You don't ever want to be left in a place where you don't have something to wear that fits and showcases your baby bump. I buy from trusted sources, I buy sizes that lend themselves to a wider range of moms, and I'm able to see the quality and photograph it so you know what it looks like on a real person. All of the images you see in the Client Closet section are my own images on real moms with the actual dress I have. Some dresses that are larger can be pinned to fit small moms if needed and you can always ask what I think will fit YOU best based on your sizes and measurements.

Sunset on Isle of Palms Beach

Charleston's got the best views of land and sea, there's no doubt about it! When booking a two location session that includes the beach we will either start at sunrise on the beach and continue to your second location on land, or we will start on land and finish at sunset at the beach. This ensures that we have the very best lighting situation for the beach since most other locations are pretty flexible.

Dress wise you can't go wrong with anything pastel or white for the beach as it really photographs so harmoniously. I actually love white outfits because in black in white they really make a statement piece and something different to add to your gallery. I've been in so many homes with black and white gallery walls and it really is so classic and bold. Highly recommend!

Brittany was the first to try out this new dress in the Client Closet, the white split skirt with the Athena crop top by Chicaboo. I have to tell you too, I love the look of the split skirt on the beach because my gripe is always that the wind makes dresses stick to ladies legs and this is the perfect (and sexy) solution. Chicaboo has done an amazing job these last few years of creating dresses that have pieces to create variety in style. Being able to mix and match a skirt with a different style top accommodates many different looks and style preferences and has really expanded my closet.
